this when i saw it i think it's fantastic and just goes to show that the community around board games is amazing guys i talk a lot of crap in in in this space right i talk a lot  of negative stuff i cover some of the least nice things about uh our wonderful space here but overall it is a wonderful space here and you guys time and time again prove how truly great human beings you are so thank you so much for being  so awesome uh let's go ahead and read this so uh this is uh shadowboard games oh sworn as you recall they need uh eight to twenty dollars extra uh to be able to ship it and obviously people paid for this a long time ago jimmy sterling here says this is terrible timing for me this month i'm in the red when is the deadline i went all in years ago my financial situation was absolutely completely different than completely different years later i'm broke and in trouble so is my all in from years ago at risk now my bank account is in the reds this month i'll need time to process and figure this out responses  you got all in so around 20 additional i'm going to try and get a hold of  shadow board and see if i can cover that  for you i send them a message through kickstarter hopefully they get back to me soon and if not i'll look at other uh messaging options trent come back and said send me a message jimmy i can help  so you get your game how awesome is that  somebody is  in trouble right somebody's having a difficult time and we all do that we all have problems uh some some months are better than others i don't know i mean maybe you're like filthy rich but i am not and so i can relate to this so so  much uh where sometimes and this is something to keep in mind when there's  those of us like probably you watching this and me watching this that back a lot of games we spend so much money on these we back many kickstarters a year but there are  people that get one a year there are people that get it and then the bad stuff happens and they can never get it  again that is their game so when  somebody seems upset about something and you're like ah it's not a big deal just  you know whatever if that was their thing it's gonna be a bigger deal to them in this case uh he's in hard times and is finally about to get oh sworn and  then he just had that taken from him and it's great to see the community kind of swell and support there and i wanted to highlight this at the beginning of the video because i wanted it to kind of  color the rest of the video as much as possible so we don't forget just how great everybody is in this space without the way let's talk about come  on okay so come on  made an update uh finally discussing their shipping i mean they're discussing it like  weeks and weeks late at this point months late because they had uh several months in between the closure of thekickstarter and the launch of the pledge manager to be able to talk about raisingprices and decided not to they're doing it afterwards but how are they discussing how are they talking about it  how are they explaining that they mentioned you know like 64. for two ways resistance where even shipping to me is double that uh so uh like how how why why did it double in between those first   few months was this way wrong was that way wrong well the most that we get out   of that uh we get a whole bunch of hey you'll get your game okay whatever as many of you know there are a number  of challenges facing the specialty board game industry the most of these challenges direct directly affect the  pricing of shipping like many publishers of the past two years we've experienced record high container rates paper and packaging material shortages and price increases increased storage fees blah blah blah blah blah where is that in here though right like that's that's the issue here is where where is that included in the 64. um i'm assuming not um one thing i would also like to point out and and they kind of talk about how like uh we are constantly reviewing every aspect of the way we run our campaigns including how we calculate shipping estimates uh you mean like incorrectly yes uh hopefully you are more uh accurate in in the meantime but again like it's also just communication right and they don't talk about communication anywhere in here they say they read all the comments and we knew that because they were deleting them off of their facebook and instagram so we know that they were reading the comments to delete them so we already knew that um but you would think that they would have read something about communication and and they never once even mentioning that they didn't communicate that they should have communicated more or anything like that another kind of interesting thing that they mention is um they're they're shipping and making money off of it okay so righthere it says we have never made any money on shipping in any of our campaigns and that remains true for this one as well this part they don't know they don't know because they're charging for shipping about a year ahead of time and a time where currently the freight cost is dropping  by the thousands it's actually almost 2 000 less now than what it was three months ago when they made the estimates so like shipping is on a downward trend everybody has said that their competitors have gone on record in interviews saying that it's on a downward trend it will not ever go down to as down as low as it was but it is going down and they're expecting that to continue to happen uh so that is just not it doesn't make any sense to say hey  we were so bad at estimating this that we were half off we didn't communicate to you now we're charging double and we're charging it well ahead of time just like shadowboard games said like there are no contracts in the in place here right like they have not locked in any price that may have a quote but that will change when they go to ship it uh which is a good thing because it'll  probably less um and so the their them saying that they will not make a profit on that is not them saying they'll refund you the difference but it's also kind of not true uh probably uh most definitely now could they could prices increase of course who knows what what the heck happens here worldwide three could break out i don't i don't care i don't but you can't say  that when you're charging so far early  it it just it it's a it's a bummer that they finally talk about it and it's just a long way of saying tough crap we're awesome um there's no apology or anything like that in here not even not even a pretend one so uh kind of unfortunate and uh for the most part all i did is make people upset which is which is too bad this should have happened more sincerely and it should have happened earlier not after all right but let's talk about cool stuff again batman gotham city chronicles season 3 is coming out on the 24th it's going to be awesome it's going to be huge and super excited for this is season three plus the rpg and they're i say huge but they're not focused on being huge that being said they are gonna have season one season two so it's like two whole kickstarters that were massive in this one plus additional but the additional is they're not trying to like cram a whole bunch of stuff there uh storage solution a few new things for the most part they're wanting to give you more content to use for the stuff you already have or if you want to get the stuff you didn't get before you can do that and then of course the rpg so um it's probably gonna be actually a pretty streamlined one however who knows uh i think originally this was delayed because of the batman was out and so they deleted uh to like use it in the game i don't know how that's going to be i know that the license for dc is all or nothing and so they have access to everything batman and technically everything outside batman 2 but they limit it to batman for obviously the batman gotham city chronicles but uh yeah just super excited to see what is involved i'll definitely be there i was there for the first two kickstarters and i'm excited for this one as well especially the fact that it makes everything solo co-op heck yes gonna be awesome uh speaking of which runescape kingdoms that's coming out on the 31st and look at that one to five players almost 10 000 followers right now this is going to be massive this is by steamforged games i will be having a play session a digital one with them soon it'll be just like i did with bardstone so i'll let you guys know my initial thoughts at least in a very limited scope digitally so it's definitely far removed from the game and you'll have to go into it you know kind of knowing that i'll have to go into it knowing that however i've been doing my research let's talk about a little bit uh they've had three kind of uh informative updates i've shared with you the first one the second box over is character sheets and skills you can go up to level 99 but that would be pretty crazy you get xp and then each time you fill in 3xp you gain a level in that skill they have combined some of the levels because or some of the skills because they're like 26 runescape so like they had attack and strength they just combined that into melee that's the example they give so it's a little bit you know this is not ridiculous level on here and then of course you can track some of the other things you do and you get skills and xp in that by using them just like for instance let's say you go come into a quest and this guy needs help and you need to gather some stuff so you need to do a gathering skill test well you can get gain advantage up to three dice versus one dice depending on your level and the kind of complexity of the mission but either way even at level one you can still possibly pass it you just gotta roll really well even if you lose that you get xp for that because you still gathered right so tried to so everything you're doing is gab is putting uh xp into these skills and having them level up which i thought was pretty cool um and they showed off a few new minis here namely uh this quest lady and uh i think that's it on this one but they do have they do have more so this is the third one here this is the game board so if you're wondering what kind of game this is how it's playing this is the game board these big places are capitals and these uh secondary places are kind of the areas around there and you do exploration and so what you're doing is you're going through this and you're you know drawing an exploration card and then you know doing whatever it is it has you do often a skill test or something like that uh but you are fighting bosses as well so here's one of the characters they have this is the the the the fashion scape right that you can play which i thought was kind of cool i love the cat wand my girls are going to love that this is an example of a boss count draymore and a clue hunter there will be four uh campaigns in the core box with four unique bosses in there now how fighting bosses works i don't know what i do like is that while they have plain bases he has kind of a thematic base where he's coming out of a coffin i thought that was pretty nice and it'll be great to see that happen more often but that's the map so if you're wondering kind of what it looks like that's what it looks like when you move your people around on the map from location to location so that's kind of the the game in a nutshell that we've seen so far all right now tainted grill tainted grail is coming out this is kings of ruin this is the standalone sequel so it's its own story however it does take place after uh the first tainted grail so if you haven't played that you might want to play that first speaking of which it's not just that they are doing a 2.0 so it says right here uh that there will be a 2.0 uh somewhere right here i don't know exactly where but uh you can see the art here looks fantastic of course their artwork always looks great uh stuff like this so like i don't know how that's gonna like in the mini but ain't gonna look like that so what they're gonna do i don't know but it it's it's not gonna be that um part of me likes the fact that their artists can just go ham just go crazy and like completely unrealistic so there's no um kind of um things pushing in on what they can design at the other at the same time i don't want to see that crap because it looks awesome and i know i'm not going to get him any of that and so that's kind of a bummer too um but uh very cool concept indeed uh yeah so there is a second edition and updated and remastered version of the original trilogy and all of its expansions so uh yeah if you have tainted grill you now have the old version it's always kind of interesting when you do a second edition hopefully they have some kind of upgrade pack um and i'm assuming it takes in some feedback like around the grind and stuff like that that perhaps some people had uh so hopefully this is a better version uh that would be great next up things that are out tiny epic vikings you can go there right now you can join almost 11 000 people they've made almost 400 440 666 the devil's in the details it's friday the 13th not anymore actually it's a little bit past that now it's it's in the early a.m for me but uh whatever hello future people uh 25 bucks this is they're calling it tiny epic blood rage there are some similarities there is some drafting in the cards prince that you can do uh when you do lose a battle you do gain benefits from there and there are probably gods that gain that much more like a loki or something like that um so there is that valhalla bonus and stuff like that uh there are there's the fjords and you're traveling putting people there but there is a little bit more there you're also building like uh you know like temples and outposts and stuff like that and uh kind of moving your people around these different islands it's the first tiny epic game that actually has a game mat in there which is pretty cool as well uh but yeah i mean that's kind of the gist of it you're drafting cards you're playing them you can play them face down and then you don't know what somebody has attack-wise until you do that and then of course you have your units on the board going around doing things as well and you play until you win right so that's kind of it uh but yeah i mean it's it's all cheap stuff as you know so um though you can get a premium print and play for 20 bucks don't get that get the rule for 25 it's five bucks more i don't know what they offer that's silly next up we have micro cosmos another tiny game that's why i wanted to follow up with it this is a small game too here you can see this guy look at that it's a tiny little game this is a resource management game so what you're doing is you're kind of i don't know if they have a necessarily a a closer picture here of the game board but you're you're moving through these like cards and they make like little pathways in your and you're building outposts and you know getting resources and you're essentially

 cleaning up after a war so there was like an intergalactic war and all of the you can kind of see it here all of the uh different uh planets need help uh kind of rebuilding and so you're kind of helping do that which is kind of cool it does have a solo mode as well so that and there's like a simple solo ai that you can uh kind of play against so this is solo friendly uh so you go and check that out as well especially if you're into those tiny epic games uh you can get it's pretty tiny as you can see so uh is indeed pretty much just cards and some wooden tokens all right next up we have waste nights beyond the horizon there are only four days left at the time of recording for this so very last minute go ahead and the links below there's a whole bunch there for you uh this is the beyond the horizon expansion for it that adds more stuff in my opinion it looks kind of water worldy uh but they've been unlocking uh stretch goals and whatnot there as you can see  again lots of water so a lot of stuff there uh to kind of play uh jeremy says  it's cool and uh jeremy's cool guy so i figure uh that means something uh but again you can kind of look down  here they have 21 stretch goals unlocked um and they just keep on trekking on that that being said it's much lower than the original and i think that maybe has to do with the struggle and shipping that they've had perhaps or just the fact that people haven't had time like me i haven't had time to even look at my copy yet so uh yeah either you don't have your copy yet or you're you're still trying to get it and play it uh so maybe a little bit early on this zeria is kind of the same way except they're actually doing quite well uh they have 94 000 raised 751 backers this has been such a small scale game sales wise that this is actually i think the best they've done they're doing quite well here and there's a lot on offer too so this is the reprint uh i have a unboxing of this that i i showed off beautiful all made in poland so it's all eu made uh which should uh help with some shipping i imagine if you're in the eu which would be kind of cool um very very pretty game dual layer boards we got a whole bunch of like um kind of even the the wooden uh uh container the wooden box for it it just it looks very very pretty it really does and there's a lot up here there's that wooden thing i was talking about beautiful art cool setting uh looks like a nice exploration quest kind of game uh that you can explore this kind of slavic fantasyland which would be pretty cool i think next up we have raw now before i show off raw i want to show you why 24 25th century games is my favorite camp company of today because this guy said what's with the horrible artwork the old edition was much nicer to which they reply what's with the horrible attitude there are other ways to have a conversation about subjective statements that aren't that are much nicer good on you 20 don't let him crap that's awesome that's hilarious um any company that responds like that brings a smile to my face uh i think that's wonderful they're not they're not mincing words but they're they're also uh the more mature one about it it just it's so funny um i think that's hilarious so raw is a remake of raw with very pretty tokens and an art style that at least one person doesn't like i think it looks pretty enough um essentially you're you're you you deal these like tokens up here and then you want to essentially be able to buy those tokens so you can like bid them with your your little tokens here and then you gain all of them but there's bad tokens and you're building these kind of purple ones to like your little monuments to gain victory points and you know it it's it's that kind of i don't know if it's an engine builder per se um i i'm no expert on it but from what i can tell um you want those tokens right and and sometimes they'll they'll match up and you can kind of line them up and stuff like that to to gain bonuses and whatnot so uh yeah looks looks pretty simple looks pretty easy um it is i think like 80 bucks well 40 bucks for the standard edition uh which has all the gameplay 80 bucks for the deluxe edition which has upgraded components with wooden auction tiles instead of cardboard i imagine uh and then some more wooden stuff metal point tablets uh in the bag which is uh also kind of cool and as you can see the wood versus cardboard is just plain nicer so uh yeah but it's also like double the cost which is a pretty big jump so uh yeah 40 bucks though is actually not that bad 40 bucks is actually pretty good for kind of a you know a fun little thinking game like this uh 80 uh you got to really know you want it but it's it's not the first time this game's been out so maybe you already do they're doing quite well by the way 326 000 so 11 days to go guys that's it i wanted to have a quick update with you guys hopefully that was quick enough uh there's some cool stuff coming
