let's dive right in i'm not gonna waste any time here skyrise is an easy back an easy recommendation i think from me to you guys and from alex from board game co and that's half of the reason why i think that's the case so it is by roxley games here they have done some great well-reviewed games in fact they're going to tell you right here our games ranked in bgg's top 3 from 2015 to 2021. they have been up in there they did radlands they did brass uh bringing him they did all of these like ones that you know and love and have been well regarded now what is this game it's kind of like an area control game or a spatial control game i think is actually how they kind of mentioned it but you're essentially building buildings and trying to build the highest one but look at the freaking 3d board here look at how unique that is it's a great well-run campaign they have this shot right up front and then of course they have boom the price is 75 bucks or you could even get it for as cheap as 50 but everybody's in the center 75 bucks today's age is like nothing it's a controlled scope i very much appreciate that we'll see if things expand if they add a whole bunch of expansions and it gets to be like 400 600 i doubt it i doubt especially if they're starting at 75 they're not starting at 120 or 130 or 180 they're starting at 75 dollars and that gets you this really high quality looking stuff and really pretty and unique game look at that they got the gifts here well run campaign i think that's fantastic that they're doing all that kind of stuff it looks really nice so that is linked down below along with a whole bunch of stuff there's a lot of stuff i don't cover every single time but i will put it in the links down below and if you see something that i missed if you think oh you didn't mention this you don't have in your links let me know in the comments below anytime i would gladly share that information with everybody else okay moving on we also have ancient blood original soundtrack this is essentially to get more funding for ancient blood their their last uh kickstarter here this is dirt gate games um there i've heard that their soundtracks are quite high quality and so that you can just get that or you can of course get ancient blood my review is linked in here i did do a review it's a review of the prototype that was quite limited to let me do a whole lot the biggest thing for me was how much the different factions of vampires stood out as being different and unique and not something i kind of used to um you're kind of used to i thought of it kind of like a legacy of kane kind of thing it was that kind of style if you've played that old game you know what i'm talking about like when when he goes into the future and then like he sees all the different factions and how the vampires you know kind of like evolved in different ways anyway whatever uh that's too nerdy for you guys probably but no seriously um that was a standout and the kind of big epic moments you can get when you open up windows so in this game you can like have guys follow you into this big room and they can smack a window and let the light in and it instantly kills everybody it feels very satisfying there so those are kind of the big standouts for me in that my experience with that but there's a ton of reviews and stuff down in the uh the the description of this kickstarter which i have linked down in my description of this video next up we have the pit achieve the power this has six thousand funded from 73 people 14 days to go they need 46 992 i don't think they're gonna get it so i'm gonna offer some advice first of all that number is expecting because they have essentially one thing they have the core pledge and then they have the retailer pledge that only one person has backed so for the most part and you can assume this people are just backing the court pledge at about 94 that's about 500 people backing it before it even funds and then of course the stretch goals on that i think some of the stretch goals involved expansions but you can't put that money in yet so you don't get it so you don't it's always a chicken and egg kind of thing with that it's like if you're gonna make a realistic thing you need to be able to essentially just be like all gonna be like here it either funds or it doesn't this is what we're offering you can put in the funds or not or you you kind of play the fake fund goal and then just try and get there you have to kind of pick one or the other though i think they're kind of trying to um you know like just have icing and forgot the cake or something like that i don't know that's a bad metaphor you get what i'm saying though uh they are definitely investing in the game the rulebook is listed like right up front and this is like a legit rulebook where is it at it's like right up here right here it's graphically already laid out it's quite thorough you can take a look at that and they've put in a lot of effort into their game but notice this this shot of like everything you get how small it is compared to something like this where this is what you see there i mean you can kind of see the clear difference there's no gifs and stuff like that here you have a big long list of this kind of stuff which gives you like some information about the people but i i need more gameplay and they do have that it's just it takes a while to get there right um so what i'm going to focus on here though because i've mentioned it several times and i want to show you exactly how easy and what i mean when i say this but the miniature renders aren't very good the one of the things i

said all the time with skyrise and one of the things if you if you actually pay me to consult on your campaign i will tell you this but you need to make it look beautiful you need to show it in its best light and that doesn't mean fake it it just means don't don't actively make it look bad right like this low contrast poor color just doesn't look good so i'm going to give  you an example i'm going to open upphotoshop here and you're going to see my terrible photoshop skills here what i mean by that is it's unorganized i have ones that are organized by they have a whole bunch of folders and subfolders and they're all it's nice this one is not this is like four years in the making was just layered like earlier or whatever i make them real quick so and that's what i'm talking about this is real quick so i had a shield unboxing i found this really cool picture that they took of their render it's like really up close and it's a focus on this really cool faces this chick has it's an awesome mini and an awesome picture of that and they went ahead and did a very high quality long form render what takes a little while to actually render it out that's how you get this kind of really smooth uh texture there and the kind of shininess to it but it's still so desaturated it's kind of hard to tell especially from a distance or if you saw it really small like like if you saw it smaller i can't really zoom in right now i don't have a mouse on my laptop while i'm filming but um you you would see that like it's just it's hard right so what i did opened up lightroom and within one minute within one minute i turned it to that now you tell me that doesn't look better because it does if the contrast is on higher you can see the details better see the teeth the depth of the eyes the furrows uh of the brow and all that you can see the clear change between the hair and the it just it just looks better especially smaller especially zoomed out especially gotten quick at a glance it's just more in your face it just again one minute in lightroom did that you could you could if you don't even own lightroom buy it for a month buy it for a month and then take the minute it takes to move some sliders around on shadows andwhites and highlights and contrast and all that kind of stuff and maybe even some tinting colors or whatever on each of these minis it would take you a day to do and they would look better now there's all sorts of other graphical stuff at play too and stuff like that but at least the miniatures the stuff that a lot of people are very focused on and something that you are too with how big these miniatures are in the image just makes it look better so that's something i see all the time and i just wanted to kind of share that with the classroom i guess a little a little pro tip from the king of average uh make your game look nice this is linked down below of course and uh it doesn't look a little legit game i think if they put a little bit more polish in the presentation it could do quite well and maybe the structure of it okay next up sfg is back on kickstarter literally june 28th they are just boom they had runescape now they're here this is epic encounters local legends now their epic encounter series are a series of miniatures that go straight to retail normally and it's essentially 5v compatible d d minis or whatever fantasy uh use you want out of them or just to paint them or whatever and they make big ones that come with boxes this big and they make small little ones and you know everything in between so it's a but it's the right scale and it's all like official stuff like hey this is actually this type of enemy or that type of enemy or whatever so they'll make beholders and stuff like that for instance so that is what they typically are i think they are coming to kickstarter this quickly this this with a game that normally goes to retail because they were expecting more out of runescape that's my assumption as runescape did not fund as much as they thought it would and so to kind of make ends meet or match their their expectations on their accounting books they're coming to kickstarter with this either as a pre-order and either it was moved up and was always planned as kickstarter or they're going to be like well we can make a few you know graphics stuff like that we can put on kickstarter do a little pre-order thing create some buzz and then still do the retail thing anyway i don't know about exclusives on kickstarter um so we'll have to find out on that uh they are kind of drawing attention to at least this guy but i think he's just an eb not a kickstart exclusive i guess we'll see but this comes with a whole bunch of other stuff it comes with it's a stunning tavern art and if this is anything to say about it i love it i love that art by the way i think it looks awesome but they have little storybits and stuff with that and ways to incorporate these minis into games so it's very focused on that dnd tabletop rpg experience so it's not just a box of minions it's not like a reaver bones kind of thing though i do expect that they'll probably have quite a few here but june 28th that is again that's quick that's quick okay uh oh and that's right here right now only 426 following but i'm assuming as the word gets out more will of course show up okay next up the breach has been breached uh by riot games right games saw that they had a character similar to their stuff on league of legends it was like oh no no no no we have lawyers you see so uh this is already funded the breach did fund but i don't i doubt they got their money from kickstarter kickstarter tends to take their sweet time doing that from what i've heard they can actually take more time than you would think to actually get your phone so i don't know if they've even gotten the funds yet but i imagine it's locked up if they haven't with this so what will happen i assume they'll just change the renders even though i think that they could get away with it so let's actually discuss what's going on here so here is the too many issue uh sister and bling's blinks being the most obvious one i play on jinx from league of legends so uh to see these characters you have the lady with the big long ponytail and the gigantic gun and then the other lady with the big uh kind of robot fists that are these two characters right here they have a very similar thing she often holds her gun down here right she's got that little thing in a big long ponytail and here's another chick with big ol you know biggified uh gauntlet weapons um but they do this with other stuff too okay so here they are again you kind of see them but like right here this guy's from overwatch right very obviously from overwatch they just copied it they are not the only companies that do do this you can typically get away with it they've gone away with it until then right um uh for instance in marvel or sorry and zombicide invader by come on they had will smith not named will smith probably named smith will or something like that from men in black it was a men in black character and then we unlocked them they had the art and the mini and all that stuff and then they had to like take it down they had to like like uh remove him from it because they were requested to have it removed but they could have done the whole dmca you know kind of lockdown thing to to kickstarter and done that way too it just depends on the company honestly though you can parody you can do home homages or homages or whatever as long as it doesn't actually confuse somebody into thinking that you are that other company it's typically actually allowed it's why you can get stuff like space valves and weird island of spaceballs and weirdo now while they always ask for permission um you can do that and not like that's typically the case however this is today's age and uh copyright claims are used by larger companies to force smaller entities just to change things because it's not worth the legal effort that it would be to actually fight for it so you see that in like uh reviews on for channels on youtube you see that on just other companies stuff like this they're just like hey that's too close we don't like it and anything that happens without a court ruling is not law by the way that's just something that happened so they can kind of act outside of the law right because the law would be okay we take you to court the judge found we were we were good or we weren't that's the law just servicing this to say we think this is that well that's not guilty that's not anything like that um but it doesn't matter it can happen outside the law and they can kind of force that so i don't like that in general i don't really dig the whole big company going over it's just some small kickstarter thing nobody thinks this is league of legends it's very obviously in my opinion safe for them to do that even with the bling's jinx i think that actually helps them in that case because it shows the kind of like um the parodines of it right uh but anyway that's that's their that you know whatever okay so moving on in fact i think i think uh this one right here is probably the worst offender when it comes to this looks like very close to the same guy um but even then i don't think anybody's going there like oh my gosh this is league of legends because it's not branded anywhere they're not anyway it's it's dumb but yeah who knows what happened from that i assume that will just uh change the scopes and call it good next up miniatures of gloomhaven i've covered this before but in case you didn't remember it's launching q1 2023 i do have more information by the way on this so um this is 500 plus miniatures because it is for everything it is for gloomhaven and forgotten circles and jaws of the lion and frosthaven plus they're going to be doing a frosthaven second printing this is i believe even a new version of the hero miniatures which is good because here mentions like crap in the previous versions it's nice to see them better and they are better look they have like sculpted bases and everything like that every single stand is getting a mini it's going to be massive now this will be expensive as all heck of course and it's going to be this big box that you got to ship you're going to pay lot the walls do for that and we all know that and whatever i have a video coming later this week to cover exactly that stay tuned for that and of course i'll remind you as this gets closer to actual launch on the 21st or on the q1 of 2023 so if you have not subscribed feel free to do that otherwise youtube will just show you whatever the last like two weeks of stuff you've seen and it wasn't my videos you won't see them again so that's how that works but but the big important thing oh and defaults to given their email that's always a bummer that's why they only have 4 000 other people because that is a large much larger beer of entry than just the follow button on a campaign page on kickstarter right because then they can email you for 20 years afterwards about every little thing that they do unrelated to miniatures of bloomhaven that one that you were interested in so once you hand that over uh that then i i most people don't typically do that which is why the number is less there it's kind of unfortunate but but the big thing here is notice that this does not mention kickstarter do you see how it doesn't mention kickstarter right you tell me if you oh yeah they have new stuff coming in too reveals and stuff like that it's going to be crazy backer kit is now crowdfunding this is where it's going to be so backer kit is a pledge manager company by trade they are one of the more expensive options to choose but that comes with a lot of premium service by them when it comes to advertising when it comes to helping with the marketing and all that kind of stuff and setting up the pm the back end system my understanding having seen a few of the others and heard from the backer kit one is actually quite good and fairly robust it's a very difficult thing that it has to handle a lot of different things it's very complex with the shipping and all that kind of stuff and entering your skus and all sorts of things there um backer kid tends to have a pretty good one there so they definitely have that experience and unlike the one on game found it's not run by a competitor of any of these other companies that are hosted on it uh instead they are a pledge manager making a crowdfunding instead of a game developer that has their own pm and then does that and so it's slightly different there as well i do have an issue with this i'll cover that in just a moment but uh that means that we have kickstarter we have game found we have game on tabletop is a distant third and then there are a few others for instance did you know there is a knickstarter yes it does a real thing if you would like me to do a video knicks starter let me know in the comments below um knicks starter is a special sort of website but anyway um and it's for board games by the way and notice right here so for games plus a whole bunch of others this is kind of uh their initial roster i'm sure it'll just grow and grow and grow as they as they do more but having solo four games there is huge uh like massive that's a big one for them it really is because again they don't have their own games to make on here now one of the issues i have here oh i guess first a positive so they have a philosophy and it's better every time and you can click on philosophy and read more about it but but it really is um i think a smart saying i've heard it said before but essentially it's not about being perfect it's

 about being better because if you are trying to be perfect first of all you never are nothing ever is you're perfect today it's not the perfect of tomorrow in other words if i had made the perfect video youtube video for me in 2019 well now i'm better at it so now my perfect video would be better right and so you just want to keep improving keep that kind of constant improvement that ci philosophy and that's what they that's what they're going for so i do did that on a negative note though they don't have any sort of um sales pitch for this and what i mean by that is when game found launched they said hey we already have the pledge manager we are a game company so we know what we're doing and what we need and we'd only focus on games we're cheaper and you have the pledge manager built into it so there's there's the four right there right that's what they came out and said oh oh and their feature set that said we're gonna have everything kickstarter does but we're gonna handle add-ons better and we're going to handl  the kind of pre-launch better and we're going to offer at least some anchor tag navigation on that big scroll thing now it's on the super advanced web 2.0 style thing where you can go to different tabs and load different content on the same page and whatnot like the fact that i i can swap between crowdfunding and philosophy right here right that that sort of thing so they don't have that but either way they had a big value set a sales pitch and a little better pitch up front this doesn't it doesn't tell you what it what are they offering are they have all the kickstarter features they're gonna have more there's gonna be anything different or unique i don't know they don't say so that's kind of a bummer um i would like to hear more from them hopefully about that if they wanna uh have an interview or talk or someone that i am definitely game because i am excited from what i've heard they're a great company and it's great to see even more competition here for sure and if they can offer something truly different and truly unique and not just we're gonna do what kickstarter does but slightly better i'm all for it so uh yeah that's it that's all i had guys again if you want to see news videos just like this in the future i'll be covering when these campaigns launch more or what happens with the lawsuit for the breach and all that other kind of stuff there is that subscribe button if you appreciate the video there's a dollar pledge at least thank you so much let me know if i missed anything in the comments below and as always have a great rest of your day take care guys bye
